minutesGluten-free bagels bring a wonderful change to everyday life! These dairy-free and sugar-free treats are suitable for many special diets, both savoury and sweet.
Ingredients
- Bagels
2,5 dl warm water
25 g yeast
1tspsalt
1 tbsp honey
0,25 dl olive oil
- For cooking
1 l water
1 tbsp salt
- Accessed on
flaxseeds
1 egg
Preparation
- Soak the yeast in lukewarm water. Stir in psyllium and honey and allow to swell for 10 minutes.
- Add the rest of the ingredients to the beginning of the dough and knead until smooth. Rise for 10 minutes. Form the dough into balls and punch a hole in the middle. Let rise on a baking tray for about 15 minutes.
- Fill a large saucepan with water. Stir in the salt and bring the water to the boil. Lower the heat to medium and add the bagels a few at a time to the water. Allow them to sit in the gently simmering water for about 20 seconds per side. Remove the bagels back to the oven rack after cooking. Brush the bagels with egg and top with flaxseed. Bake at 225 degrees for about 20-25 minutes or until nicely browned. Let rest on the baking sheet for about 20 minutes after baking.
- Cut open the chilled gluten-free bagels and fill with, for example, cream cheese, air-dried ham, pancake and mozzarella.

Tip
- If you wish, you can replace the egg with, for example, oat milk or water, making the bagels egg-free.
Great recipe, but it's not egg-free if you're told to use an egg. Of course, you can do that with something else or leave it out... 🙂
