These wonderfully crispy gluten-free French baguettes are a mouthful. You make them with Virtasalmen Viljatuote's Gluten-free all-purpose flour mix.

Ingredients

Preparation

  • Pour the warm (42°C) water into a large bowl.
  • Dissolve the yeast in the liquid.
  • Add the olive oil, salt, sugar and flour mix.
  • Knead the dough by hand or with a machine until it is smooth. (The dough may be a little sticky, but that's okay.)
  • Let rise under a cloth for 30 minutes.
  • Pour the dough onto the floured surface.
  • Divide the dough into two parts and shape the dough into baguettes using flour.
  • Place the baguettes on a baking sheet and leave to rise for another 30 minutes under a cloth.
  • Preheat the oven to 250 degrees.
  • Before putting the baguettes in the oven, grease them with a mixture of water and olive oil.
  • Bake for 25 minutes until the surface is nicely browned.
  • Gluten-free French baguettes are at their best when fresh. Fill the baguettes with your favourite toppings and enjoy!
