kplGluten-free bottle waffles will take your tongue away! And best of all, they're dairy-free too! Serve with maple syrup and almond chips or berries. Belly waffles are at their best when freshly fried.
Ingredients
2,5 dl water (42 degrees)
1 ps dry yeast
a pinch of salt
0,33 tbsp cardamom
1 dl sugar
1 egg
n. 75 g soft margarine (dairy-free)
- "For icing"
2 tbsp water
n. 2,5 dl icing sugar
1 tbsp margarine
(flavour with vanilla if you wish)
- For serving
maple syrup and almond flakes.
(You can also add a little cinnamon to the maple syrup.)
Preparation
- Heat the water to 42 degrees. Stir in the dry yeast. Add the spices, sugar and egg. Mix well.
- Then add some of the flour (about 4 dl) and mix well. Let it swell for a while.
- Then add the remaining flour and soft margarine. Knead vigorously.
- Roll the dough into small balls (use flour as an aid) and rise under a cloth.
- Fry the buns on a waffle iron until they get a nice colour. Use margarine/oil to help with frying (follow the instructions on your waffle iron for frying and using the fat).
- Mix the icing sugar and other ingredients until smooth and serve with the waffles. Serve with maple syrup and almond flakes. If desired, add a pinch of cinnamon to the maple syrup.
- Gluten-free puffed waffles are best when fried!

I didn't even bother to get up to the top of the stairs for a waffle iron. I baked the small buttered buns in the airfryer at 180-200 degrees for about 10 minutes in between. The last 2 min I turned the bottom upside down. They baked well.
