minutesDelicious gluten-free teff porridge tastes similar to rye porridge but is much softer and warmer on your stomach. Thanks to the fibrous teff, the porridge is long-lasting and can be eaten with berries, fruit or buttercream. Try it and love it!
Ingredients
1 l water/milk
2,5 dl Virtasalmen Viljatuote's gluten-free teff porridge flakes
1tspsalt
Preparation
- Bring the liquid to the boil and add the porridge flakes, stirring well.
- Cook on low heat for about 10 minutes.
- Add salt and simmer for another 10 minutes. The longer you cook the porridge, the softer it will be.
- Enjoy the gluten-free teff porridge with buttered eye like rye porridge or alternatively with berries or fruit.
Tip
- You can also use the same recipe to make oven porridge.

Hi, can teff porridge be made in the microwave, if so how?
Thank you

Hi Leena,
Our Sari immediately went to try it, so here should be the recipe 😊 The porridge requires a bit of stirring when microwaved, as it cooks slower than regular oatmeal.
2 dl water
1/2 dl flakes
Heat in the microwave (800w) for two 1-minute batches and at the end for about 30 seconds (2.5 min in total). Add salt at the end. You can increase the amount of flakes if you want a stiffer porridge.
