Gluten-free apple galette is the perfect choice even at the cottage! The pie does not require a pan, but the shape is achieved by folding the edges slightly over the toppings.

Ingredients

  • Bottom:
  • 195 g (approx. 3 dl) Virtasalmen Viljatuote's gluten-free all-purpose flour mix

  • 2 rkl sugar

  • 1 tsp cinnamon

  • 0,5 tl salt

  • 90 g dairy-free margarine

  • 1-2 tbsp cold water

  • Filling:
  • 200 g (approx. 4 small) apples

  • 3 tbsp maple syrup

  • 0,5 tsp cinnamon

  • 0,5 tsp cardamom

  • a pinch of salt

  • for lubrication: 2 tbsp maple syrup

Preparation

  • Preheat the oven to 200°C. Mix together the dry ingredients.
  • Fold in the margarine and add water until the dough is firm.
  • Thinly slice the apples and mix in the syrup and spices.
  • Roll the dough into a large thin disc. Place the apples on top of the pie, leaving about 2 cm of space around the edges. Fold the edges towards the centre and spread with syrup.
  • Bake for 20 min.
  • Serve with a gluten-free apple galette ice cream.
