The gluten-free Christmas bun is a delicious addition to the Christmas table or winter coffee breaks! The bun can be made into fruity, gingerbread or traditional raisin buns to suit your taste.

Ingredients

  • 2,5 dl milk

  • 25 g yeast

  • 0,75 dl sugar

  • 0,5 tl salt

  • 1 egg

  • 0,5 tbsp cardamom

  • 0,5 dl raisins

  • 4,5 dl Virtasalmi's Cereal Tea Gluten Free Bun Flour Mix

  • 75 g butter

  • 1 egg for lubrication

  • Just
  • 2,5 dl milk

  • 25 g yeast

  • 1 tsp sugar

  • 1,5 dl bun powder mix

  • Add to the root
  • 0,75 dl sugar

  • 0,5 tl salt

  • 1 egg

  • 0,5 tbsp cardamom

  • 0,5 dl raisins

  • 3 dl bun powder mix

  • 75 g butter

  • Fruity Christmas buns
  • 30 g butter

  • 0,5 dl sugar

  • 1 tsp cinnamon

  • 1 tl vanilla sugar

  • 50 g almond paste

  • 75 g currants

  • 100 g red cocktail cherries

  • You will also need muffin liners.

Preparation

  • Just
  • Mix the ingredients together and leave to stand under a cloth in a warm place for about 10 minutes (or until bubbling).
  • Add to the root
  • Mix the egg and dry ingredients into the dough.
  • Add the soft butter.
  • Knead the dough vigorously by hand or using a mixer/electric mixer.
  • Bake the dough immediately. Make it into fruity Christmas buns and/or cinnamon rolls.

  • Roll the dough into a disk and spread the soft butter on top, sprinkle with the sugar-cinnamon-vanilla sugar mixture, almond powder, currants and cherries in small pieces.
  • Roll up the plate and cut into pieces of about 2,5 cm.
  • Put the pieces in muffin tins.
  • Rise for about 45 minutes.
  • Brush the buns with egg, garnish with a half cherries and crushed almonds  (pearl sugar).
  • Bake at 200 degrees for about 10 minutes.
  • Gingerbread buns
  • Bake the buns as usual.
  • Make a disc of cinnamon roll dough and using a small star shape, make a pattern and lift it onto the bun.
  • Brush the risen buns with the egg. Bake at 200°C for about 15 minutes.
  • A gluten-free Christmas bun that everyone can enjoy!
