This lovely treat is low in calories and healthy, but still sweet. You can vary the freshness and tartness by adding berries. Gluten-free buckwheat porridge is high in fibre, magnesium, zinc and vitamin B1. Figs are alkaline and therefore good for the body's PH balance.

Ingredients

Preparation

  • Soak the buckwheat and figs separately. In the morning, rinse the buckwheat under running water. Soaked buckwheat is quite slimy, but don't let that bother you ;).
  • Pour all the ingredients into a blender and blend until smooth. Add more water if needed, but not a lot, just enough to keep the blender running.
  • If you want it really sweet, add a banana.
  • Put a generous amount of raspberries and buckwheat and fig porridge in a bowl. You can also layer them together for a wonderful dessert.
  • Gluten-free buckwheat porridge is also likely to appeal to children.
