150 g butter
1 dl fine sugar
1 egg
4,5 dl Virtasalmen Viljatuote's gluten-free all-purpose flour mix
1 tsp baking powder
- Stuffing
1 l apple cubes
1 dl water
1 dl brown sugar
2 tsp cinnamon
1 tsp ground cardamom
- For lubrication
1 egg
Preparation
- Bottom
- Lightly grease a pie dish (24 cm in diameter).
- Whip the butter and sugar until fluffy.
- Add the egg and mix until smooth.
- Mix the dry ingredients together and add to the dough.
- Mix into a smooth dough.
- Take 1/3 of the dough apart.
- Pat the rest of the dough on the bottom and sides of the pie dish.
- Stuffing
- Peel or wash the apples and cut them into small cubes.
- Put all the filling ingredients in a saucepan and cook for about 10 minutes.
- Pour the filling over the base.
- On a baking sheet, roll out a separate third of the dough into a round the size of a baking pan and lift it out of the paper to make a lid for the pie.
- Press the cover to the edges.
- Use a fork to poke holes in the surface or cut out patterns.
- You can also cut out patterns from the dough scraps to make decorations.
- Brush the surface with egg.
- Bake in the oven at 200°C for about 30-35 minutes until the surface is golden brown.
- Apple pie is delicious on its own, but served with a warm apple pie, vanilla ice cream or whipped custard tops it off.
