The cereal product Gluten Free Finnish Flaxseed Meal is an excellent source of fibre and good fats. It also contains important minerals and trace elements for the body. Among other things, flaxseed meal strengthens the body's defence system, promotes stomach function and soothes the symptoms of irritable bowel syndrome. Flax also promotes the activity of lactic acid bacteria, thus improving digestion.

Flax is one of the oldest crops in the world and has been grown in Finland since the 1500s. Although interest in growing flax waned over time, the 1990s saw a resurgence, largely thanks to new varieties. The cereal product Pellavarouhe has been given the label "food from our own land". Use flax for breakfast mixed with porridge, curd or yoghurt. In baking, flax adds flavour and colour to breads and rolls.
