minutesGluten-free onion pie is perfect for salty cravings. The autumnal pie gets its sweet taste from the caramelized onions.
Ingredients
- Bottom
1 tsp ksantaania
a pinch of salt
100 g butter or margarine
3 tbsp cream
- Stuffing
2 large onion
win at
olive oil
1 tbsp sugar
2 dl cream
2 eggs
2 dl emmental cheese
salt
pepper
thyme
Preparation
- Chop the cold butter into pieces. Mix the dry ingredients together. Stir the butter into the flour mix. I used an electric mixer, but you can also use a fork. Finally, add the cold cream. Shape the dough into a ball. Wrap the ball of dough in cling film and put it in the fridge for about 10 minutes.
- Press the dough evenly into the tart or pie dish. Poke holes in the bottom with a fork. Bake the base in a 175C oven for 10min.
- Peel the onions and cut them into rings. Melt the butter in a frying pan and add the olive oil. Sauté the onions in the pan. Add a pinch of salt and sugar, and continue frying over medium heat until the onions are caramelized.
- Mix the cream and eggs together. Add salt, pepper and thyme. Spread the caramelized onions over the pie crust. Pour the cream mixture over the base and sprinkle with grated cheese.
- Bake in a 175C oven for about 30 minutes. Let cool for a moment and the gluten-free onion pie is ready to enjoy.
