Gluten-free Finnish mocha squares

The BEST gluten-free Finnish mocha squares recipe! Mokkapala is the favorite sweet treat to many Finnish people. It’s easy and quick to prepare. This recipe is suitable for a large mocha square that will fit in an oven baking tray!

Gluten-free mokkapala (Finnish brownie)

Ingredients
 5 eggs (medium size)
 4 dl sugar
 1 tbsp baking powder
 1 ½ dl cocoa powder
 1 tbsp vanilla sugar
 300 g butter
 3 dl milk
Icing
 150 g butter
 1 dl strong coffee
 5 tbsp cocoa powder
 9 dl icing sugar
Decoration
 gluten-free sugar sprinkles
Directions

Whisk eggs and sugar together until you get a nice foam.
Mix all the dry ingredients well together.
Melt the butter.
Add carefully butter, milk and dry ingredients to the batter/foam. Do not whisk.
Line a deep oven baking tray with parchment paper.
Pour the batter onto the baking tray.
Bake at 200°C for approx. 20 minutes.
Let it cool.

Icing

Melt butter with coffee.
Sift cocoa powder and icing sugar.
Add the sugar/cocoa mix into the coffee.
Mix well and let cool down a little bit.
Pour the icing onto the cooled mokkapala.
Decorate with sugar sprinkles.
Let it cool and then cut in small squares.
Enjoy!
